Imagine being in a war torn country, a country that’s been in wars for over 40+ years like Afghanistan. Wars affects the normal society in any country that goes through it, those who’re affected are people like me and you who just want to have a normal peaceful life, these are people who’re wanting to provide for their loved ones just like you and I. In Afghanistan the war has left people devastated, orphans without any security or shelter over the top their heads begging people for help and at the end of the day a maximum of $1 (American Dollars per day) is what they may get if lucky enough out of the hundreds of thousands begging, now imagine the standard of life with $30/month. I would like to share a very personal perspective of what I witnessed on my own eyes, I went to Afghanistan for the first time in more than 13+ years in June of 2019 after moving to America at a very young age. I went to see my grandparents of old age and to see my aunts, uncles, their families and kids that still reside there, although I didn’t get to spend much time with them due to security reasons aside from spending around 10-15 hours twice during the two week period I was there. I stayed with a friend who I met through college here in America and thanks to him I connected and made lots of new friends, his family treated me as if I was part of the family and give me the security to stay at their house which was reasonably in a more secure part of the city compare to where my grandparents, aunts and uncles lived. I remember my friend picking me up from the airport, this is the same friend I met through the University that I stayed with, as soon as we got out the gates of the airport it was as if you got into a total different world, a world without government and I say that because the government their is just symbolic and they are struggling to implement their power, a world without jobs, a world without opportunities, a world full of tears, struggles, hopelessness and you can very clearly see these struggles in the eyes of these orphans ranging from all ages especially younger 5-13 year olds and widows with kids ranging from all ages begging because of hunger and extreme poverty. Although we don’t get to see this extreme struggles of Afghanistan in media but these people are the most vulnerable people, people who have lost head of the household due to bombing or their head of the house hold are severely injured once again due to wars and cannot operate their normal life any longer. I was in the back seat of the car and I kept looking around lost in the world of chaos and I couldn’t help to control the tears coming out of my eyes because of what I was seeing and made me realize how blessed I am to be living in a society and in an environment that I at least have an opportunity to have a shelter over the top of my head, have a job even if it’s just a minimum wage job, while getting my education done, and how blessed I am to go to sleep without thinking about getting bombed over night or being involved in tragic incidents like suicide bombing while going to work. I’ve always wanted to help those who are in need and because of the situation that I witnessed I wanted to create this fundraising opportunity for us all to be involved in giving hope and be a helping hand to those in need. I can send the money directly to a trust worthy family member who has volunteered without any cost and willing to support our cause to make sure that they buy the needs for deserving people, these will be mainly orphans and women who’re struggling to provide for their kids and I will provide proof with pictures, videos and interviews with those who will be helped. My goal is to help as many families I can and with the selected goal I put for this fundraising together we can support at least 20-30 deserving families and help them with essential needs worth of a whole month especially during these hard times that Covid19 has brought on everyone in the world and I pledge to donate minimum $100 every month till this goal is achieved and if I can do more I will. Please help me reach this goal and let’s provide basic needs for those who are struggling.
