4:00 a.m. on Friday, there was an explosion at my sister’s home, which quickly led to a devastating fire that burned the entire house down.

Our brother was severely injured while trying to save their three cats. He suffered burns to his arms, hands, face, and inhaled a dangerous amount of smoke. Sadly, despite his efforts, the cats didn’t make it.

In the fire, they lost everything — their home, car, all belongings, and tragically, their roommate also lost her puppy. My sister’s family is now left without a place to live and without anything to start over with.
