Zack and Kevin are fathers, sons, brothers, and friends. They show up every day for the people who love and depend on them. They are deeply cherished by their families and their community.

On December 27th, Zack and Kevin attended what should have been a joyful family holiday gathering. Instead, the situation turned violent. They were brutally attacked by extended family members and suffered serious injuries, including broken bones. As the assault continued and they attempted to escape, they were placed in a life-threatening situation and were forced to use lethal force in order to get away.

This tragedy has sent shockwaves through every life involved.

Kevin is the father of four young children. Zack is also a devoted father to one child and was eagerly awaiting the birth of another. Six innocent children now face uncertainty without their fathers present to protect, guide, and support them. These children need stability, care, and hope during an incredibly painful time.

Zack and Kevin never wanted to hurt anyone. They acted out of fear for their lives in a desperate attempt to survive. We are grateful they are alive today. The reality is that without the means to defend themselves, they may not have survived the attack.

As they now face significant legal expenses, the financial burden ahead is overwhelming. Funds raised will go toward legal defense costs and toward supporting their children during this difficult period.

Our hearts are broken for everyone affected. We grieve that violence occurred, that families are divided, and that children are bearing consequences they never deserved. This should never have happened.
