Father and Grandfather left homeless by fires

Hi, my name is Cadence, I’m organizing this fundraiser to help support my dad and my grandfather.

On the night of June 10th, 2023 at around 12am, a fire broke out in a building construction site and spread onto the buildings next door on Brown Ave in Maple Ridge. One of the homes affected by the fires was my fathers home, that he had been residing in for only a month.

My father is my grandfather’s primary caregiver, and he works himself to the bone to provide housing for him and my grandfather. The fires have completely destroyed all of his and my grandfather’s belongings, including some of my belongings as well. Family baby photos, clothes, food and so on have been destroyed and we are also missing one of our pets who may have gotten stuck inside the house or escaped. My father does not have renters insurance and they are currently dealing with homelessness.

All funds through this GoFundMe will be going towards my father to replace clothes, furniture, a temporary housing situation, and food. I have the starting goal set at $7,000, but honestly anything helps.

This has been such a shock for my family, and we’re all low income and this honestly couldn’t come at a worse time. If you cannot donate, please pray for my families well-being through this time, and please pray to the hundreds of others in the area that have been affected by the fires.
