Farrah’s Healing, Recovery & Path Forward

Donation protected
Hello Family & Friends,

It is with much consideration, heartache and prayer that I write to you today to seek your help. While asking for help can be viewed as strength, it has always been a struggle for me. I typically do not ask for much and enjoy giving. However, there is nothing that I won’t do when it comes to seeking help for my children. Humiliation and an invitation into personal issues included.

As many of you may already be aware, Farrah is in a season of difficult growth and change. I call this a season/phase because I MUST have full FAITH that we will overcome the trials we are currently faced with. Farrah, while Autistic for those that may not know, is suffering from some severe mental challenges that appear to be out of her control. This is causing her to self harm and not be in control of some of her behaviors and actions. Words cannot truly explain/express how intense this can be when she is raging and in a “meltdown” and the heartbreak it causes as a mother. The guilt and the helplessness to not be able to help your child is something I don’t wish for anyone to go through. Farrah does not have the ability to communicate what she is going through or feeling and it’s truly heartbreaking. Imagine being in pain, be it physically or mentally, and unable to express yourself. We are currently working with her school psychologist, pediatrician and Seattle Children’s Autism psychologist to help Farrah. This will be a long, lifelong, path forward.

While I understand my privilege to have a beautiful family and good job, I am also in a position where I need to call on those that care for us and have loved and watched Farrah grow from the moment she was born. Many of you know the miracle she is after my other losses. There is nothing I will not do for Farrah. In addition to needing to be able to freely take off work as needed for her medically, I also need to change her scenery as part of her healing to press the reset button be it a vacation or retreat with sun, as we have been told can help the mood stabilization. My goal in preparing this extremely hard ask is to remove some of the financial burdens we currently have and will have going forward so that I can dedicate myself to Farrah’s healing and discovering what her life may look like going forward in addition to future financial hardships. While the Lord will ALWAYS be in full control of her story, I am simply trying to do my part as her mother and at the present I am feeling quite defeated, beyond really. I know He will only give us what we can handle, though I am feeling perhaps He thought too highly of me, as this has been quite heavy. I say that through tears and a smile. I know we will come out of this and her future will be bright. Pastor once said we have to learn to dance in the rain. Farrah’s story is only just beginning and I can’t wait to see her shine!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read and consider supporting this request. I pray double for your trouble and triple for your love and non-judgement. This was difficult for me to do, and I will forever be thankful for you all.

With Love,

Megan Jackson
