Our farm, Double 8 Dairy, located near Point Reyes Station has a herd of cows that produce 200 gallons of fresh milk each day. But with so many of our customers closed (Bay Area restaurants and coffee shops) our milk is left unsold, which could force us to sell the cows and stop producing milk. At the same time food banks have seen a 650% increase in demand for food from the poor and unemployed. You can bridge this gap by helping us feed our community!
We have just begun delivering 1,200 gallons of fresh milk each week to the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. This donation is their only regular supply of milk, and feeds up to 1,200 families every week. But in order to keep these deliveries happening we need your help. Your tax-deductible donation will cover the cost of feeding our cows, buying milk jugs and labels, and paying the salaries of our 6 farm employees. This is a no profit, no margin activity- it's just the bare minimum to cover our cost to produce and deliver this milk.
Every donation over $50 will receive a receipt from the food bank which is a 501c (3) charitable organization. The donation will purchase milk for families and will help us continue to deliver high quality food to the neediest members of our community. We hope to raise $75,000 in order to provide milk to over 1,000 families every week for the next four months. If we raise more money we will deliver more milk for a longer period of time. At this time federal relief has proven insufficient, and as many of us have realized, we will need to help each other to get through this.
Your donation will keep the milk flowing to people in need.
Help us keep the herd milking and families fed during what is likely the most challenging moment of the last few generations. Please be sure to include your full name and email address in the donation section so we can scan and send your tax deduction form back to you.
Thank you for your support!
