The Hope Giving Foundation Farmland Fundraiser (Uganda)

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Derek Galvan*(see bottom of description). I made this fundraiser to help the Hope Giving Foundation Orphanage of Uganda to get enough money to buy farmland and resources to grow crops and livestock for them, the children in their care, and for the sake of their village. I was asked to do this at the behest of one of the owners of the Hope Giving Foundation Orphanage named Aldrian Galatians Alvin. I've met him when he was begging for money to buy food for the orphans. I gave some money, and they were able to eat that day.

He told me his story.

Aldrian Galatians Alvin and his brother both grew up in their village as orphans, living out in the streets, begging for food, and doing their best to help others survive the difficulties of poverty in a poor town. They know firsthand what it's like to live in a poor community, and they have seen others suffer and die from starvation because of the impoverished conditions, and they both wanted to make a change for themselves and their community. They want to help others and ensure the poor in their community are given the help they need.

They have bought an orphanage in 2020, and have been taking care of many orphaned children ever since. This is a picture of the many orphaned children in their care (along with those in the thumbnail)

The community, however, still lives in scarcity, and they have to make do with whatever resources they have in their hands. They can only get water from a well nearby.

The food? They have to get it from markets, and usually, they cannot have enough money on their own to get it. Locally, they can help people out with errands, but usually, it's rare, and it's little compared to how much a U.S. dollar costs (1 USD > 3000 Ugandan Shillings).

The main way they can get the money to get the food to feed themselves, especially the kids, is by donations from us: people from the internet. He's been continually begging and pleading for donations from others to get food for them. I'm one such person, and even then, I cannot do this forever. They need your help. And this is where the fundraiser comes in.

The fundraiser serves to gain enough money to buy ownership of an area of land. The purpose? To turn it into a farming ground to grow food for themselves, and hopefully for others. The real cost of the land is about $5500, and then the rest of the amount donated after that is used to buy necessary resources such as crops and livestock.

[The two brothers and the farm land behind them.]

They want to change this. Through this fundraiser, they hope that getting this farm land will offer them the means to be able to sustain themselves on their own, especially the children. No longer would they depend on others' donations to get the food to eat and drink, and usually, they barely get any except for a few.

I am one of the few people, if not the only one, who helped donate to him to help feed the kids, and he has asked me to create this fundraiser on his and his brother's behalf. (Uganda is not supported by Gofundme). They need your help.

I do not expect all of you to help out, for I understand many of you are dealing with a lot of stuff on your end as well, whether it be family welfare, or work, or even working on a fundraiser on your own. But, I believe if we give a little support for them together, we can ensure they can achieve the best for their sake and for others. I have also been adding my own donations as well.

This is a dream both brothers have in their hearts for everyone, and they're banking their hopes on this campaign's success.

Whether you guys can donate even a penny to this goal, whether you guys share the word and spread awareness of their struggle, whether you guys pray and hope they get the help they need, any help or support you can give to them is appreciated.

Thank you for reading. Whether you help out or not, I thank you for at least hearing this out.

I hope and pray they will succeed in this.

Thank you in advance for your support. God Bless.
