Farewell Fund for the Coalition Against Hunger Team

Hi, everyone! My name is Jason and I'm raising money to support the team of the Coalition Against Hunger, a longstanding pillar of the anti-hunger movement in Philadelphia that has made the hard decision to close its doors after serving our local communities for 28 years. My partner Shelby Joy is a team member at the Coalition Against Hunger, and I started this fundraiser when she told me the hard news about the organization closing.

As someone who volunteers with a local Philly food program in the Kensington neighborhood, I have a deep appreciation and respect for the work that the Coalition Against Hunger team has done to make sure folks in our local communities have the food they need to thrive. When I learned that the organization is closing, I had the same reaction as many of you - I wished there was something I could do. I'm taking action by supporting the hardworking and loyal team of the Coalition.

The news of this closure came suddenly, and it seriously impacts the livelihood of the team members who have worked so hard to fulfill the organization's mission to build food security throughout Philadelphia.

I hope you'll join me in giving back to these talented and passionate individuals who have worked so hard to make sure our neighbors have the food they need. My goal is to raise enough to provide each of the 12 team members at the Coalition Against Hunger with $1,000 to help in this unexpected period of transition. I will be raising funds through July 3rd, and I was put in contact with the team members of the Coalition Against Hunger so that I can evenly divide and send the funds raised to the organization's team members via Venmo or Cashapp.
