Papa loved filming his family. From Grandma at Niagara Falls; to Rob walking around as an infant; to Tom, Bill, and Mary on Christmas morning; to John, Peggy, and Jim at Disney World: he captured it all with his 8mm camera.
Now we have the chance to preserve all of these precious memories. For us, for posterity, but most of all for Grandma to enjoy once again. I'd love it if we could all pitch in to make this possible in time for Grandma's birthday. Together we can surprise her with the birthday gift of Papa's films.
I've found a very reputable local company called Gamma Ray Digital who I'm working with to restore all of the film reels to 4K quality. Rob and Alex have graciously offered to host the videos on their server once completed, so Grandma and the whole family can watch these films on any screen, wherever we are!
I will keep everyone updated here regarding the film restoration process. I'll do the legwork to get these organized and ready to share, along with scanning all of the old Fantini photo albums to boot.
