I am a mother of two boys, Oscar (7) and Damián (6). They are my whole world, but right now we are homeless and struggling to survive.

Their father was deported on December 26, leaving me alone with no family or support here in South Carolina. I have tried shelters, but there is no space available.

As a mother, my greatest pain is not being able to give my children a safe place to sleep.

I now have a chance to move into an apartment, but I cannot afford the deposit and first month’s rent. That is all that stands between my children and a stable home.
