Family Support for Sam, Camille, & their children

Hi, my name is Carrie Ihlanfeldt. I am the Lead Medical Assistant at The Everett Clinic in the Orthopedics Department where Sam works.

Yesterday during our work day (8/8/23) Sam had to leave the office emergently after learning that his yougest daughter, Bella, had become severely ill. Since then she has been admitted to the ICU at the Seattle Children's Hospital and is awaiting confirmation of her diagnosis.

Her current plan of care includes placement of a chest port today, a bone marrow biopsy tomorrow, and she will be starting Chemo Therapy very soon.

Sam will need to be off work for an extended period. He has a limited amount of PTO available to him, and there is currently a significant waiting period for any financial assistance through the Washington Paid Family & Medical Leave program. My hope is that we can all come together to support Sam and Camille during this time so that they can focus on their family and Bella's care without a significant financial strain.
