Here is a link to the article that appeared in our hometown paper that gave us many of the shocking details.
The next day Jennifer came home to an eviction notice on her front door. This was our first indication that there were additional big financial issues. She was told at their weekly family finance meeting that the rent was paid for September... but it wasn't.
It's been 10 days since this happened. Their father is still in jail and will likely remain their for a while. And Jennifer and the boys were left with no money, overdrawn accounts, dozens of unpaid bills and collection notices. This impacted the cars, car insurance, medical insurance, recently purchased furniture, cell phone service, soccer for the boys, all utilities and the list goes on and on.
Family and the community have been amazingly supportive. This support has help get them out of their house and navigate their immediate needs.
However, now they need support to help them start over while Jennifer looks for a job.
This is where you come in. My husband Greg and I have made arrangements to have the funds you donate put in a secure account that we will steward on behalf of Jennifer and the boys.
(The funds will not be used for Josh.)
Thank you for contributing whatever you can, whatever is in your heart to contribute. Jennifer and the boys will be forever touched by your donation.
