Family Promise of Greater Roanoke

Family Promise of Greater Roanoke is a local nonprofit dedicated to helping families with children experiencing homelessness achieve sustainable independence.

Operating 24/7, 365 days a year, the organization partners with over 25 faith communities and more than 1,000 volunteers to provide shelter, meals, and case management services. Each year, they support up to four families at a time, offering a safe and nurturing environment where families can work toward permanent housing and self-sufficiency. Through personalized case management, families establish goals related to employment, housing, education, and childcare. This holistic approach has led to over 88% of participating families securing permanent housing, with 90% maintaining it for at least a year.
