Family of Hugo Franklin Villanueva Cruz

On behalf of the Villanueva-Cruz and Moon family, we the Children of Hugo Villanueva-Cruz sadly share the death of our Father on June 14, 2023 at the age of 50 years of age.

Our Dad was born in El Salvador and has lived in Canada for 25 years as a protected citizen. Our father fled from war-torn El Salvador in Central America just over 25 years ago. Our father never became a Canadian citizen and was in Canada with protected status.

Our Dad spent years with our Mom, Andrea Moon and continued to stay close in relationship with our Moon family of Lower Post, BC. Our Gramma Yvonne Moon considered our Dad as her Son.

Our names are Edgard (20), Yahlayla (18) and Isaac (6). We are all still very young and nothing prepared us for this incredible loss. Words cannot describe the pain that we feel right now.

Our father was brought home to the spirit world less than a week ago, he meant the world to us, and we meant the world to him. He was a good father, a strong man, and loved his children dearly, we were his light, his rock and his mission.

His story as a human being and a father is nothing short of perseverance, determination and held the value of family in high priority.

We have been left with a void in our hearts that can never be filled. Our father will be mourned by many from Canada to El Salvador. He was a beacon of strength among his coworkers, friends and relatives.

Our father had the greatest heart! And would do absolutely anything for those close to him! He was a man of few words, but when he spoke you listened as his wisdom and gratitude inspired your spirit to find solace, to persevere and to be the best you can in this world.

He was a survivor, a warrior and a man of strong ethics. With a void in our hearts we ask that you extend your hand in donation, and assist us in our time of need and to help us through this storm.

We’d like to use funds that we receive through this gofundme to cover to take Dad's ashes to his home land in El Salvador to have his final resting place beside his Mom and Dad. As well unexpected expenses for the family such as accommodations and flights, support for family in El Salvador, flower arrangements, food for the gathering and a possible facility rental for a traditional gathering.

Any leftover funds will be split between the 3 children.
