I’m Alexis. I run Recovery Kidz Society. We decided to purchase a $500 Visa Gift Card to help a family at Christmas. We purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart. The card was paid for on our society’s debit card. The Card was a scam card, and the funds were used before the family was given the card on an online casino. Apparently that happens because they can’t take out cash. Shoppers Drug Mart won’t refund the money. They won’t help me. This family won’t recieve the money before Christmas.

A little bit about the family, they are in recovery, give back to the community, are amazing humans with a teenage daughter. The dad got sick with a horrific liver issue and he is off work. This happened a month ago. Medical EI isn’t kicking in. It’s been an issue. They are a beautiful family that like many lives paycheck to pay check. And could really use the help.

That’s why we decided to help. To be honest, it was a personal donation from a family that asked for it to run through Recovery Kidz Society and we said “absolutely”.

Anything will help - and until then I’m trying to deal with Shoppers Drug Mart.
