Overview: Family in urgent need of mutual aid as husband/grandad is in hospital. ISO funds for travel between home and hospital and support in providing for family during long-term medical recovery.

Hello friends, family and community,

We are saddened to report that a family (great friends of ours and very present members in our community) need help on an urgent basis. This is a sensitive matter with vulnerable family members. As such, the family wishes to remain anonymous. To respect their wishes, we’ve started this campaign to raise funds on their behalf. To respect their privacy, the beneficiary of the campaign will be named ‘Matriarch'.

Myself (Maurice Séguin) and my daughter (Emily Séguin) will be moderating this campaign.

This family is very involved in the community, giving time and help to others without asking for anything in return. The matriarch of the family is in need of mutual aid as her husband (father and grandfather of the family) is in the hospital dealing with complications from open heart surgery. With the impact on his cognitive function and a very long road ahead in medical recovery and rehabilitation, the family is facing emotional and financial strain as they travel back-and-forth from their home to Ottawa. Their only vehicle is in serious need for repairs - meaning every trip into the city is a stressful one.

Please consider donating what you can. Gas, parking and on the road expenses are costly. This situation is heavily impacting their physical and mental well-being. They have faced enormous challenges this past year as another close family member has survived traumatic injuries only months ago. They are concerned for the months that lay ahead and would be grateful for any contribution to help sustain their family. We thank you ahead of time for your support, thoughts and prayers.
