Update: Wow, amazing support. I have been in touch a few times over the past 24 hours with the churches, interpreters and lawyers involved. This is moving in the right direction. The Presumpscot School and Church community is wanting to wrap around a family right now that is in desperate need of financial help, to secure an attorney to help the families father be released from a detention center. We know and love this family well. ICE took the father over the weekend, and his family is devastated. He leaves a wife, 3 children and a 3 week old newborn left confused and scared. This is a father and husband who arrived here legally and has been waiting for his immigration trial. ICE took him illegally.

The family has found an attorney to help both release the father and fight the case. The fee for the entire case is $5,000. However if we can raise $1,500 ASAP the father can be released and the attorney will pick up the case. The church and the school are working collaborative on this to ensure safety and privacy is at the front of this outsourcing.
