On November 24th, Alex DaSilva and his family experienced the unimaginable. After stepping out for a short walk with their dog, they returned to find their home engulfed in flames, leaving them with nothing but the clothes they were wearing. In a matter of minutes, they lost their space of comfort, safety, memories, and stability. While we are endlessly grateful that everyone made it out safely, the emotional and financial aftermath has been overwhelming.
The family is now displaced and navigating the long, complicated road of insurance claims, temporary arrangements, and trying to rebuild their lives from the ground up. As many know, insurance can take months—or even longer—before support is released, leaving families to cover urgent housing costs on their own.
Our goal is to raise funds to help cover one full year of rent, ensuring they have a safe and stable place to live while they work through the insurance process and begin replacing what was lost. Rehousing after a fire is expensive, and your support will give them the breathing room they desperately need.
Any contribution—no matter how small—will make a meaningful difference. If you aren’t able to donate, sharing this page is just as appreciated.
This family has always shown strength, kindness, and resilience. Now, in their time of need, we’re hoping the community can come together to lift them up and help them rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your compassion and support.
