Hi my name is Damien Jones. I am a Life Scout in the Boy Scouts of America and am currently in the process of earning Eagle rank. For those of You who don’t know, Eagle rank is the highest rank in the BSA. An Eagle Scout displays leadership through kindness and understanding. Someone who has earned this rank strives to fulfill their duty to God and their country, inspiring others to do the same.
The path to Eagle takes time, leadership, and service in the form of an Eagle Scout service project. For my service project I am doing a charity drive for Family Gateway which is a social services organization in Dallas dedicated to helping homeless families get back on their feet. The purpose of this project is to collect essential items such as bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, hygiene, cleaning, and laundry items for homeless families in need. I decided on this project because I have experience being a homeless minor living in shelters with my mom. I want to help others who are in the same situation I was in and you can too. All you have to do is give. All material donations are going to be received at Lewisville high school, Lewisville TX, and Westside Baptist Church on 900 Bellaire Blvd, Lewisville TX.
There are no requirements and all donations of any amount or kind, monetary or material, are greatly appreciated. Any funds raised exceeding the target amount will be put towards buying additional items for donations and a bonus check to Family Gateway as charity. Thank you.
