Hi, my name is Jermaine McQueen and I’m fundraising to launch “Family First One Love Kitchen” a community project providing free, nourishing meals for children and families in Southwark who are affected by food poverty.

This project is intentionally not built around a personal name or brand. Our son, Omari McQueen, is helping lead the vision, but the mission is bigger than any one person. Family First, One Love the community showing up for the community. Too many children are going without, and we want to create something consistent, dignified, and practical that can keep showing up.

Our goal is £90,000 so we can launch properly and safely. The funds will go towards:

A safe, reliable catering van and basic branding

Catering fit-out & safety equipment (handwashing, hot holding/cool storage, essential equipment)

Insurance, compliance, and training

Food and packaging to fund our first 6 months of free meal activations

A kitchen/storage base and essential operating costs

Safeguarding and volunteer setup

Charity/admin foundations so the project can grow responsibly

Because Omari is 17, this fundraiser is organised by me (an adult) on behalf of the project. Funds will be held in the organiser’s verified account and used only for the costs listed above. We will post regular public updates showing progress, spending, and impact (meals served and locations). Once a charity bank account is active, we will manage project funds through that account.

If we raise less than £90,000, we will still begin delivering meals in phases (starting with pop-up activations and/or leasing a van), and we’ll keep supporters updated on what each milestone makes possible.

We will share regular updates showing what has been purchased, where we are serving, and how many meals have been delivered. Every pound will be tracked and reported transparently.
