Family Calamity

Dear family and friends,

Our family is in a bit of a calamity. A series of unfortunate events has put us in serious turmoil. I don’t want to bore anyone with lots of details so the general issues in short are:

1. My mom (Suzanne Overton) has been in the hospital, for about three weeks, in very serious condition with kidney and liver failure. For a moment we thought we would lose her, but she is making improvements now.

2. While my mom isn’t home, we have had to find extra care for my sister (Kianna Hembree) who needs to be with someone 24 hours a day due to her short-term memory loss and physical disabilities.

3. While my mom has been hospitalized, her new landlord has taken the opportunity to try to expel Suzanne from her home of over 10 yrs.. He hasn’t been able to do so yet, but he has locked Kianna out of their shared home & aggressively acted to deny her her tenant's rights, leaving her essentially homeless.

4. So far, the cost of vacation rentals for Kianna, daily care for Kianna, and family travels due to my mothers near death encounter has cost us thousands.

5. With the island wildfires, came a complete shutdown of income for most of our ohana, leaving us in an already insolvent position. At this point, we have no more money for Kianna's care, or lodging, let alone food and gas etc.

So, yeah…. We are down to nothing with a lot of need. We figure that it is worth a shot to ask for some support from community as things are pretty painful at this point. Anything would help, even positive thoughts and energy our way.
