Family Attorney Fund and Support for Alli Mick
Donation protected
I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of Alexandra (Alli) Mick and her daughter Rilynn,
Alli decided to leave her longtime partner and father of her child earlier this summer. She did not make this decision lightly, but after a very tumultuous relationship that included manipulation, controlling tendencies, and abuse she found the strength to leave not only for herself, but also for her daughter Rilynn. After the separation Alli agreed to allow Rilynn's father to have her on the weekends as part of their verbal/non-legal/temporary agreement.
Two weeks ago, during what was supposed to be the father’s weekend visit, he took Rilynn from her home in Nebraska to Arizona without Alli’s knowledge or consent. Arizona is where his family lives and he had resided previously with Alli and Rilynn before they relocated to Nebraska in March of 2020. His family has hired an attorney for him, and he has filed for custody in the state of Arizona.
Alli was able to go to Arizona and get Rilynn back which has been a huge relief for Alli, Rilynn, and their loved ones, but now she will have to begin the process of a multistate custody battle. Also, because it is a multistate custody battle, she will likely need an attorney in both Nebraska and Arizona.
As a friend to Alli I have nothing but empathy and heartbreak for her situation. As a mother, I am outraged that a parent would put their child in such a traumatic situation for, in what is my opinion, the purpose of being able to maintain any control over Alli that he had left. She left, he lost the control, and taking Rilynn was his only play to maintain his power in the situation. A child that is stolen away from their mother, who is their primary parent, could suffer mental trauma and her father’s behavior shows that his interest’s are not for the well-being of Rilynn.
Rilynn is only four years old and her mother, Alli, has been her primary caregiver her entire life. Alli only wants to provide Rilynn with a safe environment and happy life. All donations will go towards legal fees and helping Alli and Rilynn with the fresh start to a life they so desperately have fought for and deserve.
Any amount helps and is beyond appreciated by Alli and her family.
My love and gratitude to you all,
Angela Kaup
