Family and friends of Lorena Lizarraga

Hi, my name is Evelyn Martinez and I am fundraising for my aunt Lorena Lizarraga. Lorena had come to California to visit family. After one week of visiting, family members took her to San Francisco to tour the city. Sadly, that same day, March 12th, after a few hours of exploring the city she went into cardiac arrest. A nurse nearby gave her CPR while the family waited on paramedics. Lorena was rushed to the hospital where she fell into a coma. Four days later the doctors told our family that there was no hope. Not wanting to give up the family decided to keep her on life support. After about a month doctors informed the family that the decision to take her off life support had to be made soon. On April 13th Lorena was taken off life support, a heartbreaking decision for the family. The following day Lorena passed away peacefully. This is a story that we never thought we’d be sharing. We kindly ask for your help to be able to fly Lorena back to her hometown in Mexico where the rest of her family is grieving her loss. Después de una semana de visitas, los familiares la llevaron a San Francisco para recorrer la ciudad. Lamentablemente, ese mismo día 12 de marzo, después de unas horas de explorar la ciudad, sufrió un paro cardíaco. Una enfermera cercana le dio resucitación cardiopulmonar mientras la familia esperaba a los paramédicos. Lorena fue llevada de urgencia al hospital donde entró en coma. Cuatro días después, los médicos le dijeron a nuestra familia que no había esperanza. No queriendo renunciar, la familia decidió mantenerla con soporte vital. Después de aproximadamente un mes, los médicos informaron a la familia que la decisión de quitarle el soporte vital debía tomarse pronto. El 13 de abril a Lorena le quitaron el soporte vital, una decisión desgarradora para la familia. Al día siguiente Lorena falleció en paz. Esta es una historia que nunca pensamos que estaríamos compartiendo.
