URGENT UPDATE! PLEASE READ!
ICE HAS TAKEN ADDITIONAL FAMILY MEMBERS OF OUR CANALINO STUDENT, WITH SIBLINGS AND COUSINS AT CMS AND CHS, WHOSE FATHER WAS TAKEN LAST SUMMER.
This poor family has to relive the absolute awful and unjustified trauma they have already been through now that an uncle and cousin were taken by ICE this morning in Carpinteria, within a short walking distance from Canalino.
These are real people. That I can honestly say are some of the most caring, loving and kind people I have ever met. Their children are also just like them. They have done NOTHING to deserve this!!!!!! I have seen through tears with my own eyes the devastation, panic, and ongoing stress this family is going through. This isn’t a far away story you hear on the news that’s easy to separate yourself from, these are our CUSD students and families being affected!! If you are able please donate to help both family members taken hire attorney’s. We will continue to work closely with the family and support them through this awful time as much as we can.

Hello, my name is Tricia, and I'm starting this GoFundMe to support two families in Carpinteria, CA, who are facing an unimaginable crisis. Both families had their husbands and fathers suddenly taken by ICE, leaving them heartbroken and struggling to stay afloat.
All funds raised will go directly to these families to help cover essential needs, such as rent, groceries, legal fees, and other urgent expenses, as they navigate this traumatic situation.
These are hardworking, kind families with young children who are now trying to cope with the pain of separation and uncertainty. One father was taken in broad daylight from a grocery store parking lot. The ICE agents refused to provide identification or badge numbers. There was no warning, no explanation, just a devastating loss.
Our school and local community are in shock and mourning. These men are not criminals; they are beloved fathers, husbands, and neighbors.
If you feel moved to help, any donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. Thank you for standing with these families in their time of need.
