Falmouth High School sophomores support Mission Working Dogs

Tax deductible
Students at Falmouth High School are engaging in a school-wide fundraiser to support Mission Working Dogs, a non-profit based in Oxford, Maine that raises and trains therapy and service dogs. Christy Gardner, a Maine native, Army veteran, and para-olympic athlete who routinely competes in national sporting events, began this nonprofit after she received her first service dog, Moxie, in 2010. Since then, her organization has trained numerous service and therapy dogs, allowing the recipient to lead a more independent life.

The high school classes will be engaged in a competitive fundraiser, and the class that raises the most funds will be able to participate in the ice bucket challenge that will occur on Thursday, May 1st. For every $300.00 raised, one "volunteer" staff member will be chosen to receive the ice bucket treatment.
