The Town of Fallsburg, situated in the foothills of New York's beautiful Catskill mountains, is facing a major crisis of unchecked development which is jeopardizing its precious natural resources as well as its infrastructure and its residents' way of life. Wells are running dry, native species are being threatened, forests are being razed, town infrastructure is crumbling, and light, noise pollution and traffic are transforming our rural area into urban sprawl. And yet developers continue to propose huge building projects and amendments to our Town zoning codes which would ramp up development rather than ease it.

Created by the Fallsburg Coalition for Sustainable Growth, this Legal Defense Fund will help to preserve Fallsburg's rural character and natural resources by fighting against unsustainable development. The funds will pay for legal fees incurred by challenging this widespread development in court and in Town Board meetings.
