FairviewStrong.org-Restore Homes-Post-Helene in Fairview, NC

Tax deductible
We Are FairviewStrong.org a 501(c)(3) which evolved from Hurricane Helene, September 2024.

We are Amy Bertelli, Jenny Brunet, Frank Manley, Phil Troyer, Cory Wall, and Joanne Winkler from Fairview, North Carolina. Together, we are neighbors helping neighbors rebuild and recover what was lost to Helene.

Our mountains of Western North Carolina have never experienced a hurricane of this magnitude. Hurricane Helene left behind biblical flooding, catastrophic landslides, and unimaginable loss. The Fairview and Garren Creek communities have suffered immense challenges, with the Garren Creek area experiencing a debris flow (landslide) that claimed 13 lives, including 11 members of a single family in an area known as "Craigtown."

The destruction of Helene has taken lives, displaced families, and destroyed homes and infrastructure. In response, we founded FairviewStrong.org, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to help rebuild homes and restore hope for our neighbors. Our mission is to:

  • Provide families with a safe home that was lost to Helene.
  • Bridge the gap between FEMA assistance and/or insurance
  • We may also provide critical support in other essential areas to ensure our neighbors can return to their homes without fear of hazards such as unstable land, debris, or falling trees compromising their safety.

Every donation will directly support families in the Fairview and Garren Creek communities of Western North Carolina. Together, we can rebuild homes, restore lives, and bring hope back to our neighbors.

Please help us continue to be, Fairview Strong.
