❤️ Fag Revolt is launching this fundraiser to support three of our members to be able to stay in the UK. We refuse to allow the UK's violent border regime to take our friends and comrades.
❤️ These three members are friends, community organisers and revolutionaries working to create a long lasting QTIBIPOC community in South London. All are involved in many campaigns and community efforts to try and make life here in London better for Queer racialized folks. Together we can make sure they stay in the community and continue this important collective work.
❤️ Paying for a visa is simply unaffordable, with some visa fees getting as high as £1,938. Adding to this is the discriminatory Immigration Health Surcharge which comes to around £1,035 per year and has to be paid for multiple years up front. On top of this there are fees connected to the individual visas such as endorsement fees, spousal fees, fees to get proof of address etc. All the money raised from this fundraiser will go towards helping our members cover the extortionate cost of these fees
Financial Breakdown
- Application Fees for 3 applications: £1,321 - £1,938 x 3 = £3,963 - £5,814
- 2.5 Years of Health Surcharge for 3 applicants: 2,587.50 x 3 = £7,762.50
- TOTAL: Between £11,725.50 - £13,576.50
❤️ We are asking for a significant amount of money as we are fundraising for 3 individuals who all need to put down the visa fees within the next year, so please consider donating a bit more if you have the means. Any little or small contribution helps. With every donation transaction a small fee is deducted. Please share widely!
❤️ The struggle against border and immigration control is no ones alone, and with the government tightening its control, we need to escalate. Any funds raised after our goal is reached will be used to help our broader community pay for their visa fees. This is part of a longer term plan to expand our efforts against the violent border regime.
Who is Fag Revolt?
❤️ We are a collective of Queer, Trans and Non Binary Black Indigenous & People of Colour (Global Majority cuties). We are organizing with the intent to build a long lasting politised community in South East London. One that is part of its neighbourhood, embedded in the area and connected to our international communities and struggles.
