Hi, my name is Jamey, and I created this GoFundMe for my mom, something she doesn’t even know I’m doing yet.

I know times are incredibly hard for so many people right now, and I don’t take asking for help lightly. But if you’re able to donate even just $1, please know it would mean more than I can put into words.

My mom is 50 years old and works over 50 hours a week. She’s always done everything she can to take care of her family. Now, she’s facing eviction, not because she didn’t pay rent, but because she opened her door to my brother when he had nowhere else to go. Her lease didn’t allow another person to live there, and while I understand rules exist, I can’t accept that a hardworking mother should lose her home simply for trying to protect her child from being homeless.

This is the only place that’s ever been in her name. The only thing she’s had that was truly hers. And now she’s being told she has to be out by the end of January.

As much as I wish I could take her in myself, I live in an apartment with the same restrictions. My biggest fear right now is my mom having nowhere to go while she waits to be approved for another place.

These funds will help her secure a new home and cover living expenses so she doesn’t end up homeless during this transition.
