Hi one and all!
I'm sewing scrubs, scrub hats and face masks for key workers- not just the NHS but also for care home staff, hospice staff, supermarket staff- ANYONE who needs this type of PPE.
I need your help with raising money to buy the materials needed to make these wonders. So far I've been totally self-funding this venture but I'm in need of some help- mainly because I'm disabled and unemployed at the moment- so I've been using VERY limited funds.
Here's a cost breakdown of each item:
Mask: 1 fat quarter of material makes 1 mask + thread + elastic = £3
Scrub Hat: fabric (roughly 1 metre) + thread = £4
Scrub Outfit: fabric (roughly 4 metre) + thread + elastic = £14
TOTAL= £21
OBVIOUSLY I'm not including anything for my time sewing because what the heck else would I be doing right now?! Also, any left over funds will be donated to charity to ensure the good vibes continue going forward.
My aim is to make roughly 100 full kits (mask, hat and outfit).
This is the only way that I am capable of helping out in such dark times and I'm hoping that you will be able to help me achieve this task. I don't have many hand skills but my darling mother taught me how to sew and taught me how to look out for other people- this is a combo of both.
I've also reached out to my local area for cotton and polycotton fabric donations but I'm aware that this is a more efficient method of getting materials that are right for the job at hand- not all fabrics are made equal!
Thank you for helping me, helping Keyworker Heroes and for helping society!
Let's look after each other, be kind and use whatever we can to do some good!
