Fabian's Journey to Rebuild VFW 2348

My name is Fabian Godoy, and I proudly serve as the Senior Vice Commander of Rocco Moretto VFW Post 2348. Since joining in 2009, this post has been more than just a building—it’s been a lifeline. It gave me a place to connect with others who shared similar experiences—fellow veterans searching for a sense of belonging, a place where we all spoke the same language.

Now, my mission is to breathe new life into our beloved community center, nestled in the heart of Astoria, Queens. Over the years, the post has served many purposes—hosting celebrations, church gatherings, fitness classes, and more. I’ve celebrated countless family milestones here, including my late grandmother’s 98th and 99th birthdays. This place holds deep personal meaning for me.

On May 4th, I’ll be riding in the 5 Boro Bike Tour across New York City, wearing a shirt with a link to this site. My hope is to raise awareness and support to restore our post to the vibrant community hub it once was.
