Help the woman who helps everyone!

This is for my mother-in-law. Donna is my mother-in-law and she is everyone’s mother. At 65 years old in poor health she still goes to work every single day, not at an office where she spends the day sitting down, but at a restaurant on her feet 8 to 10 hours a day! She doesn’t ask for hand outs, but she tries to help everyone she can. She has worked tirelessly her whole life to provide for herself, her family, her grandchildren, the neighborhood children, the neighborhood grandchildren, everyone she comes into contact with. She will give you her last dollar. I have seen her put back her own groceries to help buy groceries for someone else. She is truly selfless!

In the last two years, she has lost her first husband and the father of her children, then she lost her husband and the love of her life, followed closely by her great-nephew. And even with all the loss and grief, she continues to go to work every single day, working hard to try to make ends meet. She doesn’t have an ounce of “quit” in her, she can’t afford to, if she misses a single day of work then she, her family, her pets and all those she provides for goes without. That’s a heavy weight to carry. She has many health issues, from low iron that requires quarterly blood transfusions to COPD that requires her to sleep with oxygen each night, and yet she still never misses a day of work!

Now, the only vehicle that she has—which is shared between her and her son to get back and forth to work, doctor's appointments, grocery store, etc.—the air conditioner compressor has gone out and without any savings—living paycheck to a week before her next paycheck—she doesn’t have the money for any unexpected expenses. But with her COPD, her heart issues, blood issues, and chronic pain, being in that car with no air in 90-plus degree temperatures and the humidity—she cannot breathe. By the time she makes it home from work, she is dripping sweat, having cold chills, inhaler in hand just trying to make it home, retching, shaking, sick, and exhausted from the heat. In perfect conditions she struggles, but now add this and getting back and forth to work is harder on her physically than work itself!

She doesn’t like to ask for help and that’s why I am asking for her. I have never done this before, but I am hoping we can come up with this money to get her air fixed in her car. Anything above what is needed for the air is going to be to help with her bills so maybe, just maybe she can take a single day off without worrying how she will eat or feed her family or maybe not worry about paying her bills or hell, just put the extra back as a small cushion to help for future unexpected expenses that always come! Even $5 towards her goal would help and lord knows she will be more than grateful for anything—including prayers- Prayers are greatly appreciated! Thank you for reading! We appreciate you all more than you know and good karma always comes back around- neighbors helping neighbors - that’s a world I want to live in and raise our kids in! ❤️
