On the 15th of December Child protective services called to infom me that my son was being removed from his mother. (with only vague reasons as to why.) I was asked if I would take custody in that eventuality. My answer was a resounding "Yes, of course!" The social worker seem genuinely surprised. There is no way in hell I would let him end up in the system as a foster child. (Due to differences with his mother, I have not been able to have him in my life, and I have missed him so much it makes my heart feel like collapsing in my chest.) After this she informed me that this would be happening within a week, and that I would have to be in L.A to take him the same day he was taken from the mother. So, with the help of people who love me very much, I was able to pull together the funds to fly to LA. After sevral days of CPS being unable to locate him, and me draining funds in LA's overpriced hotels, as well as some nicely priced hostels, he was finally turned over to me. Next step is a court date next tuesday, which sadly will not be the last before I can leave the state with him. (or with out him based on the court's ruling) Until that time we are staying in air-bnbs and hotels running around 100 a night, which is simply not sustainable, and it is looking like we will need to find a short term appartment rental, unless some magic happens at Tuesday's court hearing.
I am asking anyone who will, to help us raise the money to stabilize the situation until it can be resolved. As well as to maintain the bills that I still have mounting back home.
There is no way I could express my gratitued for what this would mean to me. However, I will be forever greatful to who ever can help.
