Sponsored walk in slippers for charity!

We are a group of GCSE Citizenship students who are going on charity walk around Richmond Park (in our best Christmas jumpers & slippers!) to support the Trussell Trust on the 14th of dec, as part of our citizenship action project.
Our goal is to raise awareness and funds for people facing food poverty,an issue that has become more urgent than ever before across the UK due to the rising cost of living.
Food poverty is rising sharply and especially over the Christmas period which is why we have chosen to do this now. Many families face higher heating costs, school holidays increase pressure on households with children, and foodbanks consistently report some of their busiest weeks of the year between November and January. In recent years, the Trussell Trust and its foodbanks have provided millions of emergency food parcels nationwide, with a big surge each winter. Behind every statistic is someone facing a crisis: a parent skipping meals, a child going hungry or an individual unable to afford basic essentials.
For our citizenship project, we are determined to go beyond theory and take practical action to support our community and that's where the walk comes in. Food poverty affects people of every age and background, including our fellow students, families, key workers, and anyone who finds themself experiencing sudden hardship.
By walking together, we want to show solidarity with those who rely on foodbanks and raise funds that directly support emergency food, support services, and longterm advocacy for a future where no one needs to rely on a foodbank.
Every donation no matter the size makes a genuine impact and your support will help the Trussell Trust continue providing essential food parcels and assistance to thousands of people, especially during the winter season.
We will be sharing photos and updates before, during and after our walk to show the progress we make and the difference your support helps us achieve.
Thank you so much for making it this far and please share wherever you can!
