We are Champion Electric Metals Inc., an exploration company advancing its lithium pegmatite project in the James Bay area in the province of Quebec. We are located near the Cree Nation of Chisasibi, which has been stricken by the wildfires of Quebec. As a result, we are launching a fundraising campaign in support of this community and to raise awareness of how these wildfires are affecting the Chisasibi people.

The Urgent Situation

Currently, there are 38 active fires in the northern zone, for a total of nearly 3.6 million hectares burned since the start of the season in May. The Chisasibi community has seen extensive loss—homes reduced to ashes, livelihoods disrupted, and essential supplies cut off due to highway closures. The situation is dire, affecting not just humans but also local wildlife and ecosystems.

What the Community Needs

With limited government support and immediate community needs, especially among the youth (who make up over 60% of the Chisasibi population), we are asking for your help. Based on our discussions with community leaders, urgent needs include:

How Funds Will Be Used

Importantly, 100% of the funds raised will go directly towards the building of a new playground, skate park, and basketball court for the children and youth of Chisasibi who have watched their community, land and way of life be devastated by these wildfires.
