Hi, my name is Sophie and I’m in Transition Year in Muckross Park College, Dublin

This October, I’ll be travelling with my dad to Tanzania (Africa) to do some voluntary work in a hospital there.

The hospital is based in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and it delivers Orthopaedic surgical care to adults and children.

I will be spending time assisting in any way I can with the children on the wards.

I am aware that these children face serious surgeries and are staying in hospitals much more basic and less comfortable than we are used to in Ireland. I would like to make their hospital stay more agreeable and dignified.

I’m going on a 25 km walk, from Sutton to Sandycove to raise money.

I’m seeking sponsorship to buy and bring supplies over with us, and I’d be so grateful for any help at all.
