Help My Sister Rebuild After a Devastating Apartment Fire! Fire in Coral Cover Apartments on 11/29. My sister was in one of the units that lost everything.
On 11/28, earlier today, my sister and her boyfriend lost everything in a sudden and devastating structure fire at their apartment in Bradenton FL. Her boyfriend Michael was actually the one who smelled the fire and called 911, while helping others get aware and out the building. He went back upstairs to get their cats when one ran away and he tripped and fell getting the other until room filled with smoke.
Within minutes, their home, the place they built their life in, was completely destroyed. All their collections, items, clothes, valuables. All gone. They were huge into collecting and lost everything they spent years building.
They walked out with only the clothes on their backs. They don’t have essentials, they don’t have their personal belongings, Every piece of normalcy was taken from them in an instant.
What has been the most heartbreaking is the loss of their beloved cat, Nugget. Body was not found and we are praying she escaped and is hopefully out of building.. Losing her has left them devastated. We are hoping she’s out there but the emotional distress it caused them is hurting more and more everyday. Using all little resources they have to try find her.
Right now, they’re overwhelmed and unsure where to even begin. They need support to cover basic necessities like clothing, food, temporary housing, and to start rebuilding the foundation of their lives from scratch. She is a school teacher for 5th grade at Manatee Charter and needs help with getting back to doing what she loves.
