Sam's Himalayan Expedition
Donation protected
Hi, and thanks for visiting my page.
My name is Sam Nunn, I'm 22, and a final year student at Loughborough University in the UK. I have a passion for travel and pushing myself physically, and have been on many trips throughout Europe and Asia, as well as competing in various endurance events.
Travel has to be for a purpose, and that's why I'm raising money on here. I am aiming to raise £3,400 by the 31st of May, in order to help fund a 5 week expedition to the Ladakh region of the Indian Himalayas, organised by the British Exploring Society. The money will enable myself and others to conduct vital research into the impact of climate change on this extremely sensitive environment, as well as to gain a deeper understanding of the way the human body and mind react and adapt to extreme environments.
With this research, and the stories I will tell from the expedition, I hope to raise awareness within the UK and further afield of the impact climate change is having on the world's few remaining wildernesses, as well as the communities who live there, relying on the land alone for their lives and livelihoods. However distant it may seem, climate change affects all of us, and the greater our understanding, the more we can do to prevent it.
I would be extremely grateful of any money you can donate to my cause. More information on the British Exploring Society, and the work conducted on their previous trips to the Ladakh region can be found by following these links:
