Ian’s Battle Against Autoimmune Encephalitis ❤️

Hi, my name is Genesis I am creating this GoFundMe in behalf of my brother Ian Soto, Ian Is a 23-year-old healthy young man, Uncle,son, Brother and Friend who still has his Entire life and career ahead of him Ian is currently enlisted in the United States Army which has always been his dream since he was a little boy but suddenly his life changed unexpectedly on August 15 of 2024 when Ian began to feel sick, Ian was found unconscious Having a seizure.It is unknown how long Ian was on the floor unconscious before somebody found him… For The Pass Two - Three weeks Ian has been having very strong seizures back to back without any explanation. This began to affect his brain, his memory, and even the ability to recognize his family. on August 30 we received the news that Ian was in the ICU intubated on a ventilator, as you all can imagine how hard this unexpected news hit our family.Ian is believed to have Autoimmune encephalitis which is a type of brain inflammation where the body’s immune system attacks healthy cells and tissues in the brain or spinal cord. It is a very rare and complex disease that can cause rapid changes in both physical and mental health Symptoms often vary but can include an sudden loss of the ability to speak, abnormal body movements or seizures, vision loss, weakness of the arms or legs. Psychiatric manifestations can range from anxiety and mood changes to psychosis with hallucinations, Due to hospitals in Youngstown not having the resources to be able to properly diagnose and treat Ian, he had to be transported to Cleveland for better care and proper diagnosis. this led Ian to be more than an hour away from home and his family. Due to the distance, it has brought financial hardship and distress for our mother as our mom is his primary caretaker in this situation. As some of you may know, Ian has a long road of recovery ahead of him, due to this he will not be able to work or even renew his contract with the United States Army. This also means that our mom will also spend the majority of her time in Cleveland by my brother’s bedside helping him through this tough time . today I am asking for anyone who is able and willing to help our mom alleviate some of these financial hardships that may come due to these unforeseen circumstances, the money we raise will will go towards my brothers journey to recovery, helping my mom pay for her living expenses and other any other financial expenses that may come while she’s by my brother’s bedside

Debido a que los hospitales de Youngstown no tenían los recursos para poder diagnosticar y tratar adecuadamente a Ian, tuvo que ser transportado a Cleveland para una mejor atención y un diagnóstico adecuado. Esto llevó a Ian a estar a más de una hora de distancia de casa y de su familia. Debido a la distancia, ha traído dificultades financieras y angustia para nuestra madre, ya que nuestra madre es su principal cuidadora en esta situación. Como algunos de ustedes sabrán, Ian tiene un largo camino de recuperación por delante, debido a esto no podrá trabajar o incluso renovar su contrato con el Ejército de los Estados Unidos. Esto también significa que nuestra madre también pasará la mayor parte de su tiempo en Cleveland junto a la cama de mi hermano ayudándolo a superar este momento difícil.
