Help Me Help Costa Rica

Hello Family and Friends!

It is me, Bailey Jackson back again to travel the world. As some of you may know, in 2022 I worked alongside a non-profit volunteer group through my school called VIDA Volunteer. With VIDA, I had travelled to Guatemala where we had the opportunity to assist community doctors in under-served areas and provide helpful hands in these primary-care clinical settings. On this trip, we were able to proivde care for over 300 patients across 3 different cities in Guatamala. My experience was more than I could've asked for, with hands-on work, learning experiences from trained professionals and the joy brought to so many indivudals that we were able to assist.

I loved my first VIDA experience so much, that I decided to go again, yet this time to Costa Rica ( May 2024) . I will be travelling there alongside some other peers, where we will be travelling throughout the country for a total of 2 weeks . Within this timeframe, we will be visiting 3 different cities and setting up 4 full clinic days. Our VIDA clinics are of full access to any one who can visit them and provide primary care to the best of the physicians abilities. ( Hypertension medication, diabetes testing, obstetrics care, wound care etc) In cases where a patient needs further help, the proper recommendations are provided!

The majority of the funding for the trip ( 75%) goes towards the cost of the clinic set up/take down, medications, medical tools, transportation etc, while the rest of the cost goes towards my personal accomadations. Any help I am able to recieve will not only be greatly appriecated by myself, but will allow me to provide my most driven and heartfelt care to those who deserve it the most.

I am honoured to have this opportunity, and thankful I will have the chance to bring a type of care to individuals who might not usually have access to. I hope to learn as much as possible about their health care and treatment while I am on this new adventure, as it will further my knowledge and help my studies in my Bachelor of Health Sciences degree.
