Eye masks for Cancer patients
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Matilda Harris, and I’m a Year 9 student at Caulfield Grammar School. As part of a community service project, I’m making eye masks for cancer patients at Cabrini Hospital.
This project is especially meaningful to me because a close family member was recently in the hospital receiving cancer treatment. During that time, I noticed how small, thoughtful gifts brought real comfort and helped brighten their recovery. Inspired by this, I spoke with some of the amazing nurses at Cabrini and decided to create hand-sewn eye masks — a simple but meaningful item.
These eye masks can help patients:
- block out light for better sleep,
- Relax and rest during the day,
- feel calmer, comforted, and cared for.
I’ll be sewing each mask myself, and 100% of the money raised will go directly toward buying materials like fleece and elastic. I already have some soft fabric to use, so I am just trying to get the final materials together so I can make this happen.
Any donation — big or small — will make a huge difference.
Thank you so much for your support
