EYE CARE - I CARE

I am Ronald (Fox). Back in 2017 I decided to not just trade office walls for open skies but to make nature and people my direct surroundings. After following the expected career path, I decided to leave everything behind and explore the world by bicycle. Traveling at 20 kilometers per hour, I have crossed countries, communities, listened to stories, and learned to see the world through different eyes.

During this journey, I have covered a distance equal to circling the Earth, I have experienced a harsh reality: what is taken for granted in the first world, remains out of reach for many. While eye care is readily available to us in the first world, millions of people worldwide lack access to something as simple as a pair of prescription glasses. Leaving their vision and their future blurred.

I have lost part of my visual field, and my mission became clear: to help people see the world better.

In 2019 I have cycled through Nepal with my dear friends Nino and Sammy. It was a moment were Nino gave his pair of glasses to an old Nepali man. We couldn't speak each other's language, but his face expression said more then anything else. He could clearly see more then he ever had.

This is for us the motivation to go back to places like this. We are planning to go back to Nepal in October/November 2026. We will visit communities that live very remote, lacking access to basic healthcare. We will travel by foot, bike or with the support from local transport to bring prescription glasses to those in need.

I partner with Global Vision 2020 to achieve results in the pursuit of my mission. I am carrying a GV2020 backpack having all the equipment I need to do on-site screening and provide glasses to people.
