It is with immense sorrow and heartbreak that we grieve the sudden passing of a dear friend, husband, father, and colleague, Doug Thompson, who left us far too soon on Sunday, September 21st, following an unexpected cardiac event. Doug received immediate medical attention after falling ill earlier that week, but despite the efforts of his care team and the love surrounding him, he passed peacefully with his family by his side.
Doug was the kind of person who made the world a little brighter wherever he went. He was a devoted husband to Kaylin, a proud and loving father to Logan and Bella, a lifelong Jack White fan, a dog lover, and someone who always worked hard, laughed loud, and cared deeply. His passing leaves an enormous hole in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Now, his community has the opportunity to support his family.
Supporting Bella and Logan’s Future
This fund has been created to support Doug’s family as they navigate the difficult months and years ahead. The probate process can be lengthy, and during that time, we want to give Bella and Logan the flexibility and security to focus on healing without the added weight of financial uncertainty. Logan is in college and Bella will have that opportunity soon, and we don't want their future options to be constrained by this tragedy.
Funds raised here will be discretionary, helping cover both immediate and longer-term needs as they arise. One of the most important goals is to ensure that Bella and Logan can continue pursuing their futures at any undergraduate and graduate program they want to pursue. They have plenty to carry right now, and changing their college goals or futures should not have to be one of those burdens. This is one way we can help beyond what Doug's family have already done and continue to do, so please lean-in and support these great kids in the name of their great father.
Every contribution, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated and will directly support Doug’s family. Sharing this page with others who knew and loved him is also a meaningful way to help.
