Expenses to help my mother

Hi, my name is Courtney. I’ve created this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden on my mother. on March 21, my father woke up and was vomiting and passing blood. he was rushed to Rolla hospital where he sat there for almost 24 hours and did not get the care he needed. While there he was given six units of blood. At one point he had to get a massive blood transfusion protocol and a central line placed into his neck. He almost coded twice there and began having issues with his heart. They said that he did not have enough blood volume in his body to keep his heart operating the way it needed to, and it kept collapsing. They also said they were going to wait to scope him until the bleeding stopped a little and tried to give him medication to help with that. His status did not change so we advocated for him to be moved to St. Louis to a better hospital, so that he can get the care he desperately deserved. It was there that he continued to have massive blood loss. Nothing they did seem to stop the bleeding. He required more blood transfusions and plasma and platelets. They went in with a scope to try to stop the bleeding and had to send him to radiology to go through his femoral artery to put a coil around the bleed. We thought we were out of the woods but a few hours later he started vomiting blood again, and became even more weak. It was then a trauma surgeon was called in, and they had to rush my father to do emergency surgery. The surgeon came out and talked with my mother and told her he was not for sure if he was going to make it out of the surgery because of how weak his body was he said that his body was in shock. He also said that if we opted out of the surgery, my father would die fairly quickly. But by the grace of God, my father was able to come out of surgery, and was on a ventilator for a day and a half. After the surgery and he got off the ventilator, he began to have heart attacks. His troponin level was 6200 the cardiologist said that she had never seen numbers that high and somebody still be alive considering the fact that the troponin levels are only supposed to be 15. They couldn’t go in and immediately fix his heart because he still had a small leak in his stomach so they were waiting until the weekend to see if his stomach would heal itself to be able to go in and fix his heart. My mother and I have been traveling back-and-forth to the hospital almost daily. My parents care for four of my nieces and nephews. so on top of gas and food and my mother not working for almost 2 weeks now the bills are starting to pile up. Even when my father is able to get out of the hospital, my mother will not be able to return to work for sometime to be able to care for him at home , unless she can get to stay with him. so I’m making the go fund me if anybody feels the need, no matter how big or small or even just to pray for our situation. Anybody that knows my parents know that they have always helped anybody no matter their circumstances. Thank you for your consideration.
