Expenses for Whitney Pattillo

Donation protected
On May 25th Whitney's son Bryan was hit by a car. He was life flighted to Texas Children's in Houston. He sustained head injury, broken right clavical, a collapsed lung, broken left femur, broken left foot, 3 broken left ribs, left ear damage and contusions. A chest tube was place so the bleeding lung could drain. He was put on a vent and was taking some breaths on his own. Heavy sedation and paralyzing meds were given. Scans were done on his head and showed linear fractures to the skull with no bleeding but there was pressure so an ICP (intracranial pressure) monitor was placed. Scans done on his femur showed 3 breaks with internal bleeding. His ear cauliflowered out on the lobe and was sliced in 3 places and was stitched up.
On May 27th he was taken off the paralyzing meds and still heavily sedated to allow no brain activity so it could start trying to heal.
On May 28th scans showed a depressed skull fracture.
On May 30th a MRI was done and showed shearing of the brain which is tearing of the nerve fibers. Bright spots, big and small, were all over which indicates damage. It showed his Thalamus that has the functions of waking up and and sensory signals is damaged. His Cerebellum that has the function for motor control and language is damaged as well.
On May 31st  pressure point test was given by Neuro on different parts of the body and he responded to 1. Drs also lowered the dose of meds to see how his body would react and his blood pressure went up a bit so they put it back on normal dose. Also Ortho has given P.T the go ahead to start so he doesnt stiffen up. All these issues are expected with his injuries and he has not declined.
His dr's have said this will be a very long and slow process. His stay in the PICU is undetermined until he is able to wake up and see what functions he has.

Before this accident happened Whitney was working 3 part time jobs and her fiance Lawson Looper is working 1 full time job. Since then Lawson has taken his payed vaction which is 11 days and has not left Whitney and Bryans side. He has taken the FMLA (family medical leave act) which is 12 weeks unpaid. Then he will, if not sooner, have to go back to work to keep a secure job so he can continue to support his family. Bryan has NO MEDICAL EXSPENSES. He is fully covered.  Whitney and Lawson are staying at the Ronald McDonald House in the hospital but food and other neccesities are not covered. This is being created to help them with one less worry. I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Any donation will help them out tremendously.

Please send prayers and positive thoughts flooding over Bryan, continued strength for Whitney and Lawson and comfort for his baby brother George while his Bubba is healing.

Updates will be given so ya'll can read on his progress he's making.  All donations will go directly to Whitney and Lawson.
