Hi, my name is Jenna Garcia. Im the mother of Eden Garcia. Our Cataleya. She was born on August 29, 2022. She was born with a rare genetic disorder called myasthenia gravis with a ALG14 variant which is a protien deficiency that affected her breathing and muscle tone. Despite all this she overcame and started prospering as our baby girl did. We were told that she wouldnt make it during her first 48 hours of life. She over came that. She had schemic strokes in utero and was epileptic, despite that she prospered with medication. We were told she wouldnt do much of anything she would not have a normal "childhood". She recieved her tracheostomy tube and Grastostomy button at 2 weeks old. Endured and overcame. She moved her arms and legs and wiggled body parts. Made sounds over her trach, knew people by sound and loved face hugs. Made booger bubbles but also hated to get suctioned. Loved music and hated loud noises. Loved being sung too and held. Loved her 2 brothers, sister, mom and dad and many more. She was full of life, at 4 months old had her own language and could tell so much without saying a word. We were told her life expectancy would be a year or less yet she overcame and her life expectancy had become unknown. She was a warrior our own personal wonder woman and miracle.

On Wednesday 1/18/23 at around 6:30 AM our night nurse neglected to make sure our daughter was safe and taken care and our daughter went into cardiac arrest. We lost our daughter for 40 minutes and LFD/EMS brought her back to us. Thursday we got news that she was in a deep coma and that she has no brain activity, no pupil reaction or pain sense. She is in a vegetitative state, with the unknown possibility of her waking up. We are setting up this gofundme in order to help us with bills and keeping us afloat during this time in our lives. We hate to ask for help this way and the circumstances are horrible. Whatever is welcomed. Whether its prayers or a couple dollars its all appreciated. We thank you beyond words will ever say. On Thursday 1/26/23 she passed onto heaven. We cant begin to thank those reaching out and helping us. Despite not being here we will keep her fight going because her story isnt something that can be swept under the rug. We'll honor her by making a change even a small one at that.
