Our story: We met during a class at LifeChurch - Canton over three years ago -- Kellie was leading the class, and Jason was a student. We had our first date one Sunday after church (after Jason had to club Kellie over the head to let her know that he was interested in HER!). We quickly fell for one another and started dating . One year after our first date, we were married.
While meeting, falling in love, and getting married came very naturally and even easy for us, becoming parents has been a bit more challenging. Before we got married, Jason expressed to Kellie that the deepest desire of his heart was to become a husband and a father. And Kellie had always dreamed of becoming a mother and experiencing pregnancy. Unfortunately, life hasn't quite worked that way for us.
After trying for over two years to have a baby, we have decided to expand our family through the use of an egg donor. This hasn't been an easy decision for us -- we've explored many options, from traditional adoption, embryo adoption, and even IVF. In the end, we feel this is how God is leading us to expand and grow our family. As the Lord says in Isaiah 66:9: I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born.
We've found the most amazing donor and are excited to move onto to the next step in the process -- bringing those eggs home and creating our new, little embryos! Our doctor is very hopeful that everything will be in place for a March pregnancy -- we could be parents by next Christmas! Truly, this would be a dream come true for us.
We just recently closed on our first house together and cannot wait to bring Baby Etzel home to his/her new room. We've saved close to $10,000, but the egg donor process is quite expensive -- total, it will cost closer to $30,000. This is why we are asking our family, friends, and community for their support and generosity. We need to raise an additional $20,000 to welcome a baby into our family.
Please keep us in your prayers -- we value your prayers, encouragement, and support more than anything. And, if you feel compelled to help us expand our family through a monetary gift, we would greatly appreciate that as well.
