Help Us Create a Home for Learning, Connection & Community
Hello, I’m Leah, the founder of Eclectic Witch Collection.
For the past six years, this little business has been so much more than a shop. It has become a place where people stop to chat, share stories, ask questions, find comfort, and connect with others who understand them.
Over the years, I’ve met so many wonderful people looking for the same things: friendship, belonging, creativity, knowledge, and a safe place where they can simply be themselves.
Now, I want to create something even more special.
My dream is to transform part of Eclectic Witch Collection into the Community Library, Learning & Wellbeing Hub — a warm, welcoming space where people can gather, learn, create, share, and support one another.
The Hub will include a lending library filled with carefully chosen second-hand books on folklore, mythology, herbal knowledge, traditional crafts, wellbeing, and personal growth. Books will be available to borrow both in person and through an online lending service, making the library accessible to people who may not be able to visit regularly due to disability, health conditions, caring responsibilities, transport issues, or distance.
Alongside the library, we will host workshops, craft circles, book clubs, discussion groups, seasonal celebrations, and community suppers where people can come together around a shared table and enjoy genuine connection.
To ensure learning opportunities are available to as many people as possible, many workshops and educational sessions will also be offered online. This will allow people to participate from home, helping those who face mobility challenges, chronic illness, social anxiety, transport barriers, or other circumstances that can make attending in person difficult.
Our aim is to create a community that extends beyond our physical space, giving people opportunities to learn, connect, and belong whether they join us in Eastbourne or from the comfort of their own home.
As someone living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), I understand how isolating life can sometimes feel. Building this business while managing a long-term condition has been one of the greatest challenges of my life, but it has also shown me how powerful community can be. A kind conversation, a shared experience, a welcoming smile, or simply knowing you’re not alone can make all the difference.
I want this space to be a refuge for anyone who needs it.
A place for those seeking friendship.
A place for those struggling with loneliness.
A place for disabled people, neurodivergent people, carers, and anyone who has ever felt a little different or disconnected.
A place where knowledge is shared freely, creativity is encouraged, and everyone is welcome.
With your support, we can purchase books, create comfortable reading and gathering areas, improve accessibility, provide workshop materials, establish both in-person and online library services, and host community events that bring people together throughout the year.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps us move one step closer to creating a space built on kindness, learning, inclusion, and connection.
If you’ve ever visited Eclectic Witch Collection, supported my journey, shared a conversation, attended an event, or simply believe that communities need more welcoming spaces where people can belong, I would be incredibly grateful for your support.
Together, we can create something truly special for Eastbourne.
A place where people feel seen.
A place where people feel welcome.
A place where people feel they belong.
With love and gratitude,
Leah Hoskins
