Hello everyone,

 

We are reaching out to you today to support a strong and hard-working member of our community, Eve, a transgender Puerto Rican woman who has faced significant challenges due to discrimination and harassment in her workplace. Sadly, this unjust treatment resulted in her losing her job, leaving her in a precarious financial situation.

 

In the face of these challenges, Eve has been contending with a flare-up of complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD), intensifying the difficulties of her job search and hindering her ability to secure a sustainable income. The emotional strain from the discrimination she experienced has worsened her condition, making it increasingly challenging for her to support herself. Despite these obstacles, Eve remains determined and resilient. She is currently working part-time and doing gig work to make ends meet. However, the loss of her full-time job and the impact of the discrimination have left her struggling to cover her rent.

 

We are aiming to raise $6,000 to assist Eve with rent relief. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in helping her regain stability and continue her journey towards a brighter future.

Eve is a hard-working member of our community who deserves a chance at a fresh start. She spends her free time volunteering in her local community to help other people, including participating in neighborhood clean up days, helping to prepare and distribute food and beverages to low-income people in her neighborhood, and lending a helping hand to anyone who needs it. By coming together as a community, we can offer her the support and resources she needs to rebuild her life and regain her independence.

The experience of sexual harassment and discrimination in the work place, and the retaliation she received after reporting it to her boss, was incredibly painful, humiliating, and isolating for her. Helping her to raise money for this will show her that she is not alone, and that our community stands with survivors of sexual harassment.
