Hello, my name is Yash Shah, and I never imagined I would have to ask for help like this.

Two years ago, I lost my father. Since that day, I have been the only parent and provider for my family. I carry the responsibility of supporting my loved ones, including my older sister, while working far away in Sudbury, Ontario as a miner.

Recently, my worst fears became reality.

Our home in India was destroyed in a devastating fire. Everything we had — our house, our memories, our belongings — is gone. In just a few moments, my family lost the only place we called home.

Being so far away while my family is going through this pain has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced. I feel helpless knowing they are struggling without shelter, without basic necessities, and without the security we once had.

I am working as hard as I can, but the truth is, I cannot rebuild everything on my own. The cost of starting over is overwhelming.

I am humbly asking for your help.
